Lalamove’s ride-hailing service will operate under a model where drivers can take both ride and delivery bookings, but not at the same time. This flexibility allows drivers to choose the best times for ride bookings during peak hours, while also fulfilling delivery orders during quieter periods.

One of the most attractive aspects of the service is the low commission rate for drivers. Lalamove will only take a 2% commission, leaving the remaining 98% of the fare to the driver. This move is expected to be a game changer, offering a more profitable option for drivers compared to other ride-hailing services.

The company has big plans for growth. By June 2025, Lalamove aims to onboard 15,000 drivers in the Philippines. This expansion is a crucial part of the company’s long-term goals in the country, with the aim of offering both faster and more affordable transportation options for users.

Lalamove’s entry into the ride-hailing market is seen as a response to the increasing demand for affordable and reliable transportation in the Philippines, particularly in urban areas. The company, which started in Hong Kong in 2013 and entered the Philippine market in 2016, is now poised to compete with established players in the ride-hailing industry.

In order to become a partner driver with Lalamove, interested individuals must meet several requirements. These include a professional driver’s license, vehicle documentation, and clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) or local authorities. Lalamove also requires passenger accident insurance for all vehicles operating on the platform.
