Disclaimer: This is a casual review based on personal experience and general audience feedback.

I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest Alien fan. The original is a classic, of course, but the franchise hasn’t always hit the mark for me. That said, I went into "Alien: Romulus" with an open mind, drawn by the promise of spine-chilling suspense and the iconic Xenomorphs. And let me tell you, it delivered on the scares!
The movie throws you straight into the deep end, with a group of space explorers stranded on a hostile planet. The atmosphere is tense from the get-go, and the claustrophobic setting amps up the dread. The movie picked-up maybe around the 15-20 minute mark. When the Xenomorphs finally make their appearance, it’s a heart-pounding, jump-out-of-your-seat moment. The creature design is classic Alien, but with a modern twist that's both familiar and terrifying.
While the scares were top-notch, the story had its ups and downs. Some plot points felt a bit predictable, and there were moments where I questioned the characters' decisions. But hey, this is a horror movie, not a masterclass in human logic! Overall, the narrative held my interest, and I was invested in the characters’ survival.
One thing’s for sure: "Alien: Romulus" is a standalone experience. You don’t need to be a die-hard Alien fan to enjoy it. The movie does a good job of introducing new viewers to the franchise while satisfying longtime fans with nods to the classics.
If you're looking for a thrilling ride filled with suspense and scares, "Alien: Romulus" is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared to jump out of your seat!
