LG Electronics, recognized for its innovative display technology, played a pivotal role at the prestigious Art Fair Philippines 2024. Held from February 16 to 18, the event transformed The Link in Makati City into a vibrant hub of artistic expression. LG's collaboration with the fair underscored its commitment to bridging the gap between traditional art and the digital age.
Immersive Art Appreciation with LG QNED & OLED TVs
Art enthusiasts experienced unparalleled visual clarity as they explored the fair. LG's state-of-the-art QNED and OLED screens displayed artworks by renowned Filipino artists Eugenio Ampudia and Alvin Zafra. These award-winning TVs, recognized as Best TVs of CES 2024, brought the artists' visions to life with exceptional color accuracy, deep blacks, and stunning contrast.
QNED Technology: Blending Innovation and Detail
The LG QNED screens, featuring a blend of Quantum Dot and NanoCell technology, offered a captivating viewing experience. Mini LED backlighting ensured vibrant colors, deep blacks, and stunning contrast. Precision Dimming Pro+ further enhanced clarity, while the α9 Gen5 AI Processor 8K delivered sharp, lifelike images.
OLED Technology: Taking Visuals to the Next Level
LG OLED evo screens offered an unparalleled experience with self-lit pixels for perfect blacks and infinite contrast. Brightness Booster and the α9 Gen 5 AI processor amplified luminance and adjusted tones for exceptional HDR. Together, these features delivered a truly immersive, detailed, and vibrant experience for digital art enthusiasts.
Supporting Innovative Art Forms
The 7th floor of the fair showcased a dynamic collection of digital, crypto, and new media artworks, displayed on massive LG QNED and OLED screens. This initiative not only amplified the visibility of digital artists but also showcased LG's dedication to supporting emerging art forms. The versatile nature of LG's screens allowed them to adapt to the unique aspect ratios and orientations often required by contemporary digital art.
In addition to supporting visual art displays, LG's cutting-edge OLED screens played a crucial role in the fair's educational and cinematic endeavors. The Talks section, an integral part of Art Fair Philippines’ mission to expand art audiences, featured LG OLED screens, which enhanced presentations and discussions with their superior picture quality. Among the projects using LG screens was from Data, an online commissioning platform for artists working with digital media founded by David Gryn. Another work was Be a Tree Now!, a participatory movement that responds to the call for climate justice. The project’s result was a moving multiple-exposure image that resembled a tree’s canopy. Similarly, the “speakeasy” area on the roof deck utilized LG OLED TVs, which provided an exceptional viewing experience that complemented the artistic and narrative depth of the discussions. The space, named NO SHOWING and spearheaded by filmmaker Moira Lang, served as a hangout and breathing space for guests at the fair.
