The collaboration started in 2016 with the Huawei Mate 9, since then they've given us other premium and fancy devices like the Mate 10 Porsche Design, Mate RS Porsche Design, and other versions of the Mate 20 and Mate 30. Known both for their quality and amazing build.
But with this one, there's not much change from the standard version, Huawei Watch GT 2. Both have the same titanium casing and ceramic back. The screen is made out of Sapphire. One thing that is significantly nice here is the titanium wrist strap and the beautiful butterfly buckle. It has a slider that allows you to adjust the length of the strap and adjust it with just your hands, no tools needed.
The watch supports over 100 workout modes which have climbing, surfing, rowing and so much more. A feature that has voice guidance for the running courses. This one has a skiing coach and a golf drive range mode which I think is pretty interesting. Not sure how accurate it would be but it would be nice to have a device analyze your swing posture and help improve your swing speed. Not only that, when you go out and play at the golf course, you have access to a barometer to give you insight on the air conditions. You can see the trend here, they might be aiming at the golf market and that lifestyle. It also tracks sunrise and sunset. The phase of the moon and tide. The watch is water-resistant up to 5 ATM or it means that they are water-resistant to up to 50 meters for 10 minutes. Take it running, hiking, or climbing.
At the back is where you will fund the heart rate and SpO2 sensors they can track 24-hours a day. It also has a TruSleep 2.0 feature which can diagnose 6 common types of sleep issues, TruRelax tracks your stress levels.
Now, how long can it last? Similar to the Huawei Watch GT 2, the Porsche Design Huawei Watch GT 2 can go up to 14 days with regular use, and around 8 days with heavy use. Charge it for 5 minutes in the morning and you're good to go the whole day of up to 10 hours.
Just like the regular Huawei Watch GT 2, this one runs on a Huawei OS. It has a 1.39” OLED display and a 46 mm body. The Porsche Design goes for around €700.
