While the Philippines and the rest of the world are on a strict lockdown, people are now spending more time at home. Employed individuals have embraced the work-from-home culture. We've seen the spike of home-entertainment and the importance of on-demand service apps. People don't have to go out but when they do, it is only because of the need to get their essentials like food, grocery, medicines, etc.
This time has been quite difficult for everyone and sometimes doing small things like paying your bills or doing bank transfers add up to the hassle and inconvenience. Not all payment centers and banks are open in our areas, if they are, lines are quite long and eat up your time of day. If only there's something to make it a bit more convenient.
I find myself using the PayMaya app more and more during the ECQ (Extended Community Quarantine). Maximizing its services, being able to transfer funds to relatives, and using it as payment online just makes the small things a bit more convenient. Sharing with you reasons why I use my PayMaya app before and why It's so useful now
1. Bills Payment - It's so convenient knowing that I don't need to look for banks and payment centers that are open near me, line up and pay my bills. With the PayMaya app, I can pay for utility bills, credit cards, taxes, and insurance fees, and more! Now, I know that deadlines may have been extended, but I recommend that you guys settle bills as soon as possible and before the due date to avoid any inconvenience.
All you have to do is >Select “Pay Bills” on the homepage of the PayMaya app > Choose the biller
Input the required information > Enter the amount to be paid > Confirm the payment > Wait for PayMaya’s confirmation on your payment via SMS
Here I'm able to pay Meralco, Converge internet, my Globe line, PLDT, Pru Life U.K. and so much more right at the comfort of my home.
2. Send Money / Bank Transfers - You can send money to your loved ones anywhere in the Philippines and get it fast. You can send it to another PayMaya account, to Smart Padala, Palawan Pawnshops & to banks. Now that bank transfer is very helpful. From major banks to other money partners.
Now, you can 'Add Money' to your PayMaya account via Bank Account, Debit or Credit Cards, and other 'Add Money Partners'. You can also transfer funds from one bank to the other thru the PayMaya app. Here’s a list of places where you can Add Money to your PayMaya. Due to the enhanced community quarantine currently in place, some branches may not be operational at this time. Check it out here Link here. The article is regularly updated.
3. Load - May it be for mobile, gaming, or other, here you can load up amounts and promos. Now while I am maintaining a Globe line, I do purchase prepaid load for the rest of my family.
For mobile. Smart, Talk N' Text, Sun, Globe, TM, and PLDT is available.
Game Pins. For those leveling up their game at home, players can load up their Steam accounts from starting from P 50 up to P 1,000. Mobile gamers can also get their game points on Mobile Legends, Ragnarok Mobile, Garena, Blizzard and so much more.
Others. Here you can purchase Tinder Plus subscription, Zomato subscription, Cignal prepaid, and other fast food items.
4. Pay Online - Using PayMaya to pay online is super convenient and fast. May it be shopping online, buying groceries, and others. During this ECQ, I've been using the GRAB app more and other on-demand services. Using PayMaya as a payment option saves me the hassle to look for change or each payment for every purchase.
One can also go contactless on your next grocery delivery and pay online using your PayMaya virtual or physical card! You can stay safe at home plus avoid the hassle of handling cash.
Here's a list of grocery stores that deliver around the metro:

5. Promotions - Cash Back / Balik Bayad - PayMaya usually has promotions every month on the cash backs you'd get for every usage/purchase using PayMaya and having those rebates are just as awesome as it gets.
6. Donate & Support - Also makes it easy for users to donate and support organizations that help those affected by COVID-19. You can donate to Paymaya and proceeds are remitted to the organizations. PayMaya with us stands as #OneAgainstCOVID19!
