I never had a run that was as fun as The Music Run by Philam Vitality which happened just a few weeks ago. We were running late because of the crazy traffic but hey, this is our first time and we just had to experience it. The Ultimate 5k Running and Music Festival was also hosted in other countries and now has returned to Manila for a bigger and bolder event.
Over 10,000 participants headed to McKinley West for the one of a kind event. The area had an infectious energy where the Music Runners ran danced and partied. What's really cool about this run is the total music immersion experience. The Music Village was treated to a pre-party from local alternative sould band Sud giving upbeat renditions of their hits. Gold's Gym also gave a music and dance infused workout to get the energy levels pumped
As you may know, The Music Run has Music Zones with interactive activities in between. From Rock to Pop Zone, back to Old School Zone to Hip Hop then ending in the Dance Zone. During the run I can't help but be amazed with the whole setup. I heard they lined over 120 concert-quality speakers pumping 150,000 watts of music the entire way. Also the soundtrack for the run was voted for by the participants through the online music app developed in aprtnership with Spotify.
The presenting Sponsor Philam Life, who recently launched the Philam Vitality Active App, hosted a series of engaging running, swimming, and cycling challenges at their booth. A few lucky Music Runners™ who downloaded the app also walked away with cool prizes such as fitness devices and gym memberships. The event was also sponsored by Petron, Alcatel, Oakley and Saucony.

As runners finish the fun 5k fun run, they are given medals and can head straight to the Music Village for the ultimate music festival. Anyone there can dance, chill and enjoy the music and fireworks that the Music Run has prepared. The Music Runners also had Manila's biggest mannequin challenge. Here, check it out below.
Returning Australian DJ Sam Withers who was a big hit in last year's after-run concert again wowed the audiences once more with a stunning performance.
