Tapenade Restaurant at Discovery Primea

Who would have thought that there would be this beautiful Mediterranean restaurant inside the luxurious Discovery Primea. The all-day dining restaurant boasts their wide selection of bold, light and summery flavors from Spain, Italy, Franc, Greece, Turkey and Morocco. The restaurant is named after a traditional Provencal condiment of finely-chopped or pureed olives, capers. anchovies and olive oil.

The place is inspired by the 17th century Chinoiserie wave that was popular in Europe. It has a relaxing motif, water features and wall to wall art pieces inside the restaurant. Before anything else, you would be surprised if I tell you that Tapenade offers their dishes at a very reasonable price compared to others.

One highlight of the restaurant is the “Salad Room,” where they offer one of the most luxurious salad experiences in the Philippines. The Salad Room opens during lunch and dinner service and features an abundant spread of freshly harvested greens, condiments, dressings and vinaigrette's, as well as flavored-oils, dips and salsas, cold-cuts and cheese stations, seafood, sauces, terrines, rillettes and breads.

Executive Chef Luis Chikiamco who leads the hotel's restaurant and bar operation shares, “The Mediterranean Diet is known for its health benefits, without sacrificing flavor. This is why we decided to offer the market a gourmet and healthy alternative to the usual buffet experience,”.

“Mediterranean Cuisine is very friendly to the Philippine palate thanks to our Spanish heritage. We carefully selected the dishes in Tapenade to showcase flavors that have familiar yet unique tastes,” added Chikiamco.

The Tapenade restaurant has an open kitchen, highlighting a brick pizza oven which encourages interaction between the chefs and the guests. Their handmade pizza like the Pizza Tartufata has received some great reviews from the customers. It is made of Italian Guanciale, Black Truffles with a free-range Egg, making a tasty gourmet surprise. They also have the hand rolled pumpkin Agnolotti which has the familiar taste of sweet pumpkin with a touch of brown butter and crispy prosciotto.

The restaurant also showcase classic Mediterranean dished like the Chicken Tagine with green olives, lemon confit and aromatic Moroccan sauce and Lamb Kebabs with an updo of Orzo al Pesto on the side.
