I was fortunate enough to be included in the private testing with some lifestyle and foodies in the online community. Thanks to Ryan.
Check out the place.
IPPUDO was founded in 1985 by Shigemi Kawahara, the internationally-renowned Ramen King, IPPUDO PH is the newest addition to other global stores in places such as New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Sydney, Malaysia and Thailand.
Was able to try a couple of side dishes and my choice of ramen.
I went for the Karaka-Men, coz I was craving for something spicy. This ramen has thin and curly noodles, I told them I want the noodles to be a bit hard so that it will be a bit chewy when is sets in the hot broth.
Karaka-Men - P390 |
It has spicy miso paste, fragrant garlic oil and ground pork, with cashew nuts and pork belly. Now.. hows that for your ramen craving?
You can also have some add-ons for toppings. Choices like tamago (salted soft-boiled egg), chashu (simmered pork belly), nori (seaweed) and many others.
But Hakata-style IPPUDO is famous for their tonkotsu broth (pork-based) which I wasn't able to try. They say that it has this delicate signature taste and creamy flavour.
Shiromaru Motoaji - P375 |
Known as IPPUDO's signature ramen, the Shiromaru Motoaji, is tonkotsu broth served with ultra-thin noodles. It has pork loin, bean sprouts, kikurage and spring onions – as well as the Akamaru Shinaji which is a reinvention of a special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil.
Was able to try some of their side dishes. I love their Hakata-style Gyoza, the pan-fried dumplings was just so good! I also liked their Ippudo Pork Buns. The juicy braised pork belly hits the spot.
Here are more of their side dishes.
(L) Dashimaki Tamago with Mentaiko Mayo P150 is a fluffy Japanese omelet roll served with mentaiko (spicy cod roe) mayonnaise dip.

If you've noticed the interiors, Ippudo Philippines has certainly put a lot of attention to details. The place is just amazing and beautiful. The service wasn't bad either. The staff promptly removes plates when done, refills drink when done. Updates me on my order and all smiles. They certainly make effort in creating a unique and delightful ramen dining experience.
