Apple Reveals iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iOS 8

At exactly 1:00 AM Philippine time, I'm infront of my laptop and search #AppleLive. It brought me to Apple's site and well... I peed my pants. Here we go guys! The much awaited Apple reveal.

Tim Cook said “Today, we are pleased to announce the biggest advancement in iPhone. ” and people just went crazy.

The iPhone 6 has a continuous, seamless design. There are no distinct edges. The cover glass curves around the sides to meet the anodized aluminum enclosure and is definitely thinner.

Both iPhone 6 models feature a new Retina HD display. Dual-domain pixels on the photo-aligned IPS display give you a wider angle of view.

The cover glass is an ion-strengthened thing of beauty. The rounded, seamless surface is created using a precision polishing process.

iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display. iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch display. iPhone 6 Plus has a resolution of 1920 by 1080 with 401 pixels per inch. That’s full 1080p HD resolution. iPhone 6 has over one million pixels. And iPhone 6 Plus has over two million pixels.

These are the thinnest iPhones ever made. iPhone 6 is merely 6.9 mm. iPhone 6 Plus is just a smidge more at 7.1 mm.

Tim shared that there’s a lot more to the new iPhone than a larger display.

GAMING
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are powered by the Apple-designed A8 chip. The A8 chip has up to 25% faster processing power and up to 50% faster graphics.

iPhone 6 is up to 50% more energy efficient, so you can have higher sustained performance. The A8 is able to sustain performance-intensive tasks, like playing a game at higher frame rates.

The Metal titles are coming! The Metal titles are coming! Top game developers have committed to delivering iPhone 6 games before year’s end. With more to come next year.

iPhone 6 will also have some fitness apps. The Health app in iOS 8. Measures physical activities, like the flights of stairs you climb. Third-party apps will be able to tap into these features.

The M8 coprocessor continuously measures motion data from the accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass. iPhone 6 has a barometer that senses air pressure to measure relative elevation. The barometer is great for fitness apps. iPhone can now tell if you’re going up molehills, mountains, and everything in between.

CONNECTIVITY

iPhone 6 now supports Voice over LTE. It’s wide-band audio for voice that sounds amazingly crisp and clear. iPhone 6 has faster LTE than iPhone 5s. It also has more LTE bands than any other smartphone for better roaming. iPhone 6 supports over 200 LTE carriers around the world. Including all three in China.

VoLTE for iPhone 6 is supported by some of the world’s top carriers. And will continue grow. With 802.11ac, iPhone 6 Wi-Fi speeds are up to three times faster than iPhone 5s. Wi-Fi calling is a new feature for making high-quality calls when cell conditions are poor.

CAMERA

iPhone 6 has an 8MP iSight camera, 1.5µ pixels, ƒ/2.2 aperture. And an all-new sensor. Focus Pixels in the all-new sensor help iPhone 6 focus faster and better. Focus Pixels are a technology previously found only in professional DSLR cameras.

New software improvements help you take better pictures. Faster autofocus, next-generation local tone mapping, and advanced noise reduction. It’s a mouthful that gives you a real eyeful.
