I'm grateful and honored to be a part of Habitat for Humanity Philippine's first Social Media Circle and be one of their Online Champions. Habitat for Humanity Philippines held the first "Social Media Circle" at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Century Mall where they gathered social media influencers. The group included respected bloggers, celebrities/personalities with strong Facebook and Twitter presence and also members of online communities from various group who have been supporting and have been spreading the word about Habitat and its work.
Overall, there are over 1.15 billion Facebook users and more than 550 million twitter users. In the Philippines, 41 million internet users and 30 million of that are on social media. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blog sites)
Indeed social media played a huge part in getting the word out faster than any other medium. Being active on social media is more than just posting selfies and flashbacks or throwbacks. Habitat for Humanity has proven this during the height of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) last November when people all over the country and even abroad showed their support by sharing and letting the online community know what's happening and informed people on how they can help and support those affected by the calamity.
Yes. It's true that we all have a voice and we all have the capacity to influence someone. But the question is... How do you use your voice to influence others?
If you guys are still wondering what is Habitat's work, they provide decent shelter to families living ins sub-standard, deplorable conditions. Over 1.6 billion of the world's population live in inappropriate housing where children live in unhealthy conditions and families struggle daily to survive. Habitat addresses this growing problem. That's why they encourage donations and invites volunteers to spread the word about Habitat and its mission.

Spread the word on Social Media
Be sure to share this information. Help us reach millions through social media with the work that Habitat do. Publicize your personal support to Habitat and encourage your friends, family and followers so that they may do that same with theirs.
Be a Volunteer!
Get a first-hand experience on how to build a house at the Habitat community. Volunteers get to participate and join in building side-by-side with other volunteers and homeowners and be part in bringing hope to families.
