Omnibus film “Bang Bang Alley” which offers stories that serve as unsettling social commentary by directors Ely Buendia, Yan Yuson and King Palisoc on corruption, violence, amorality and betrayal in society hits mainstream theaters on April 9, 2014. Ely himself with co-directors and key film cast met with members of the press during a luncheon at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City last March 19, 2014.
“Pusakal” is written by and serves as directorial debut of rock icon Ely Buendia, whom few know was a couple of units shy of a degree in filmmaking when he formed what would become the most popular Pinoy band in history, the Eraserheads. The episode is about a coke-fueled reprobate who accidentally kills her sister’s boyfriend. Fleeing to an abandoned lodge in the remote mountains, she befriends the property owner whose own secret could destroy them both.
Starring with Buendia in the episode are Megan Young, Perla Bautista and Jamie Wilson.
The second episode is “Aso’t Pusa’t Daga” written and directed by Yan Yuson, also musician, theater actor and playwright. The episode centers on a young TV journalist who survives a political massacre in the countryside and prepares to testify against its alleged mastermind, a government official. The ill-guarded government safehouse becomes the stage for a reckoning of deceit, betrayal, horror, and death.
In the cast with Yuson are Bela Padilla, Joel Torre and Art Acuna, among others.
King Palisoc is an award-winning director whose body of work ranges from music videos and TV/film to corporate AVPs and TV commercials. “Bang Bang Alley” serves as his debut feature-length film with his installment titled “Makina.” The story revolves around a driver who is off the edge when he discovers his wife cheating on him. The episode features Gabe Mercado, Althea Vega and Kalila Aguilos.
Crime drama anthology “Bang Bang Alley” is from Curve Entertainment Inc. and Nimbus Film Production. It is being distributed nationwide by Solar Entertainment. For more information and updates, visit www.facebook.com/BangBangAlley.
