Got invited to a Bose event and I wasn't really sure what they were launching this time. I tried not to spoil the surprise by googling or using my ninja skills deciphering what the invite is about.
Arrived at the Ayala Land Premiere Showroom in Bonifacio and prepared myself. Their last event, they launched the SoundLink and the QuietComfort, which were really amazing. Now, Bose is introducing their SoundTouch Wi-Fi music systems. Yes Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth.
Bose offers a new way for us to listen and enjoy music at home using their SoundTouch™ systems. Their system lets you stream music wirelessly in any room with the famous audio quality and well user-friendly functions. To make it simple to understand, play music from your collection or stream music from radio stations all over the world via Wi-Fi with a push of a button!
We were brought to a room, with a setting for us to get a feel of how these SoundTouch music systems will perform in your actual home, in any room. Communicating wirelessly, each one connects to the internet using the existing Wi-Fi network.
Check out the SoundTouch 30, SoundTouch 20 and SoundTouch Portable.
Each one designed to auto receive software updates. Soon, the system will be able to access the world's popular music services like Spotify, Deezer, iHeartRadio and others. What makes it also cool is the app that comes with it. The SoundTouch App. The app controls the SoundTouch system in your home may it be in the dining area, living room and in your room all at the same time with the swipe of a finger.
The Bose® SoundTouch™ app lets you use your smartphone, tablet or computer for powerful capability and control: browse and discover content, operate any system in any room wirelessly, and combine all music services and stations with one look and feel. The new SoundTouch™ app is compatible with most Android, iOS, Mac OS and Windows systems.
The biggest one and most powerful of the three. The SoundTouch™ 30 Wi-Fi® system measures approximately 10"H x 17"W x 7 "D. It features exclusive waveguide technology and a new proprietary woofer to deliver deep, rich sound and the power to serve as a home’s main music system.
SoundTouch™ 30 Wi-Fi® system costs P49,500.00 |
The SoundTouch™ Portable Wi-Fi® system costs P29,500.00, the same as the SoundTouch™ 20 Wi-Fi® system. It combines full-range audio and a rechargeable, lithium-ion battery in a speaker no bigger than the average book -- about 6"H x 10"W and less than 3"D. Take it with you in and around the home, and the music keeps playing.
One thing that the Bose team is proud of is that the SoundTouch™ Wi-Fi systems are Effortless and Powerful. I think I would have to agree on that one. They feature six presets on top of the system.
Each number can be personalized to an Internet radio station, music service channel, or stored playlist. You can set a preset, and it only takes one press -- one second -- to your favorite songs. It’s as easy and effortless as flicking a light switch. Now isn't that a sweet walk in the park?
Users can start with any SoundTouch™ system and add others for a multi-room experience: play the same music in every room, or different music in different rooms, indoors or out. I asked the question if future Bose products will be wi-fi based, meaning will there be more Bose products that the SoundTouch app will be able to connect to and control? and the answer is yes. I am so looking forward to those upcoming Bose products.
Bose will also offer the SoundTouch™ controller, an accessory premium controller that works with any SoundTouch™ system. It has a volume dial and proximity sensor. All essential functions and information are integrated, including an OLED preset preview.
For added flexibility, SoundTouch™ music systems are also AirPlay enabled, so owners can stream content from their iPad, iPhone, or iPod
