Who loves breakfast? I do!

Tagging along yet again with Mr. MOE one fine Saturday morning (thanks again to the generosity of Ms. Nana Nadal), we traveled from Manila to find a cozy little place along Katipunan called HARINA ARTISAN BAKERY. From the name alone, one should already know what to expect. However, there are more things in Harina than freshly baked breads.

First and foremost, Harina not only bakes their breads fresh daily but also, and more importantly, they make them the traditional way: hand rolled and without shortcuts and chemical additives. Nothing less than premium ingredients are used. Customers are always assured of nothing but good stuff!

Lucky us, we got to start our weekend with a bounty of Harina's product offerings:

BLOOMIN' BREAD (P320)

 

My personal favorite! A crusty, pull-apart loaf filled with basil purée and an assortment of melted cheese which was served with a dip of balsamic vinegar and extra- virgin olive oil. It was so big, it is enough for a party of five.

CHICKEN CAESAR SANDWICH (P220)

Attention Caesar salad lovers! This one is for you: Grilled Cajun chicken and lettuce in Caesar dressing topped with poached egg, bacon and Parmesan cheese on baguette.

STRAWBERRY- CHEESECAKE STUFFED FRENCH TOAST (P290)

 

Breakfast isn't breakfast without your fill of comforting French Toast. This one is made special with cheesecake- filled brioche topped with whipped cream and strawberry preserves.

WALDORF SANDWICH (P220)

An interesting combination of flaky pastry with chicken, red and green apples sprinkled with celery and chopped walnuts in mayonnaise.

BREAKFAST TART (P 290)

All the elements of a perfect and balanced breakfast comes together in a puff shell filled with cream cheese, spinach, baked tomatoes, bacon and eggs.

PEANUT BUTTER, BANANA & CHOCOLATE STUFFED FRENCH TOAST (P290)

What could go wrong when you have wheat honey walnut French toast with a stuffing of sliced bananas, peanut butter and chocolate spread?

Apart from these, their menu also carries an assortment of breads including the famous breadsticks by Monsee's.

They have a good selection of healthy choices such as Egg and Vegetable Enchilada, Granola Yogurt bar and Apple Pie smoothie. They also served a really good Signature Iced Tea for only P 88.00.

Harina Artisan Bakery Cafe opened November of 2013 in Katipunan which was formerly Monsee's. (sam owner) They called it Harina because flour is frequently used in their recipes. Their menu carries assorted breads like the breadsticks and Spanish bread which Monsee's is widely known for.

They offer pancakes, muffins, and biscuits. They also have a good selection of healthy choices such as the Egg & Vegetable Enchilada, Granola Yogurt Bar and Applie Pie Smoothie.
