There was quite a rave with JAG before fashion week. Reason for that, is because Elle and Marie Claire Fashion Director Nina Garcia will be gracing JAG's show in fashion week. Fashionistas went nuts.
The show was hosted by Sarah Meier.
The place was packed and the lights went off. All eye on the runway as JAG presented their Holiday 2013 denim collection for men and women. Binibining Pilipinas 2013 candidates went out on the first set prior this one. I just wasn't able to take photos of it.
Part of the show was also the collaborations with 3 local designers.
The show started with designer Norman Noriega.
On the info that I was able to gather online and based on my newbie fashion taste just by looking at the collection. I'm guessing it was designed to flow. The collection was beautiful and sexy. Showing comfort and ease with style. It may look a little bit out of the ordinary for women to wear on a days work. But I guess it all depends on who's wearing it.

Known to be a master of his elemeny which is street style and denim. His collection was just so fresh with his play of shapes and adding texture to the ordinary jeasns. Well I wish I had one of his piece. :)

Such beautiful work on denim. Pushing creativeness and making ordinary jeans luxurious is this designers goal. I think it worked. What do you say ladies?

The interview was done by Boy Abunda. It would have been nice if a fashion icon here in the Philippines or someone from fashion did the interview. But Boy did a really nice job. Asked the right questions, the mood was light and Nina was very happy with how it went. Good Job tito Boy!
Here are some of my take homes.
Stay focused. Be authentic to yourself. Be unique. It's about being yourself, because nobody can have that.

On the Biggest Achievement of Project Runway. The interest it created in fashion! When the show was aired, it tripled the student enrolling for fashion design. It accelerated the interest for fashion.
On her list of stylish women. I think style has nothing to do with beauty. I'd rather be stylish--beauty is overrated.
To the young designers. You have to be persistent, you have to be prepared, and you have to always believe in yourself.
Thanks JAG for bringing Nina Garcia over here. Our young designers sure did learn something on Nina Garcia's advice. This is the very first Jag Origins: Inside The Creative Mind series, and we look forward for more on the coming fashion week!
