Indeed this is a movie that I would love to watch and just reminisce about my life when I was coming of age. Directed and written by Stephen Chbosky, delivers a stunning performances of the young and talented casts. The story revolves around a freshman named Charlie played by Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Theif) who has been always out of the radar and stays on the sidelines until a pair of charismatic seniors takes him under their wing. The beautiful, free-spirited Sam played by Emma Watson (Harry Potter Franchise) and her adventurous and fearless stepbrother Partick, played by Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin). They shepherd Charlie through new friendships, first love, burgeoning sexuality, wild parties, midnight screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the quest for the perfect song.
The movie gives me a pinch in the heart and brings me into their world. I have got to admit that the direction is something worth noting. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is now available in DVD & VCD from Summit Entertainment and locally distributed by C-interactive Digital Entertainment.
Best coming-of-age film since Stand By Me, Almost Famous, Juno. Another addition to the collection alright!
