Bonjour! was the greeting I got when I was invited to attend the launching of the newest fashion brand, Elle Girl. The apparel is a Paris-inspired brand that brings styles from the City of Light straight to our young and hip Filipinas. Aside from the stores, they also introduced their brand ambassadors.
Meet the ambassadors Camille Co, Jessica Yang, Julia Sniegowski, Pam Solilapsi, JamieLaciste
High fashion has always been an integral part of Camille’s identity, an aspect that is undeniable to both friends and fans. The self-made fashion designer’sfirst foray into sartorial expression came in the form of personal clothing brand, Coexist, focused on high-street RTW designs, as well as a separate couture line. Her prowess at producing chic, wearable designs earned her a spot in Preview’s 10 Designer’s to Watch For in 2010. She was also included in Preview Magazine’s 10 Best Dressed Women for 2011, Mega Magazine’s 10 Most Stylish for 2011 and 20 Most Stylish for 2012. April 2011 marked her entry into the world of blogging, and her continuous climb to even higher levels of achievement; garnering a finalist position in the Best Fashion Blog category of the 2011 Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards. These were followed by features on TeenVogue.com as Blogger of the Moment, Lookbook.nu’s Beyond the Hype, and a turn as Preview cover girl for the September 2012 issue, demonstrating that genuine passion can indeed take you places.
Jessica Yang
Her pretty Taiwanese features are certainly eye-catching, but it’s Jessica’s vibrant personality and laidback appeal that set her as one of the hottest young models in the industry today. Shefirst got her start when Yako Reyes, a friend and professor at Southville Foreign University advised her to drop by a Fashion Week casting. The billboards and features quickly followed in abundance, including the award for Hottest Jag Push-Ups Online Ambassador, brand ambassador for Plains and Prints’ S/S 2011 collection, and a feature in “Cosmo’s 8 Sexiest” for the magazine’s November 2011 issue. Numerous fashion stories in the country’s top glossies see her in acrobatic poses, wearing the latest designer outfits, with more than a little touch of fierce to her expression. Don’t let the make-up and pronounced pouts fool you though, off-duty she still retains the sweet, humble disposition that never ceases to endear and amaze everyone around her.
Julia Sniegowski
One thing that can be said about Julia is that she is definitely gorgeous, both inside and out. The Japanese-American model and TV host established herself working all over Asia, eventually visiting the Philippines due to numerous recommendations from friends and acquaintances. She loved it so much that she ended up extending her stay in the country, going on to host ETC HQ with Patti Grandidge and Mike Concepcion, as well as a new show, Girls of 28A, where she regularly charms viewers with her sweet, feminine style. She continuously renews her obligation to healthy living and the environment by following a strict vegan diet. Her self-awareness is also evident in an on-goingcommitment to the PETA campaign; Free Mali, a movement against animal exploitation, proving time and again that true beauty is more than just a pretty face.
Pam Solilapsi
Success can lead many to rest on their laurels, but Pam isn’t one to slow down any time soon. Ever since 2009, she has been a member of the Embassy/Republiq group, the moving force behind some of the most popular restaurant clubs in the metro. She keeps her schedule packed with many duties, including regular gigs as events manager for Republiq and Opus and host for the Weekday Warriors event at Prive Luxury Club. If that isn’t enough, the 25-year old also holds a position as part owner of Aracama, another highly fruitful venture in the restaurant business. It isn’t just her fabulous work ethic, though, that allows her to keep pushing the bar. Numerous associates and close friends can attest to her bubbly and infectious personality combined with her trendy casual fashion, that special something that keeps them coming back for more.
JamieLaciste
Running one of the well-known clubs in the country can be a stressful experience for even the most experienced, but Jamie has the entire thing in the bag. As the marketing and events manager for Prive Luxury Club, she has seen her fair share of fiascos and weathers them all with relative ease. A graduate of DLSU with a degree in Psychology, she went on to study fashion styling and merchandising at SOFA Manila. She also wanted to expand her knowledge in the field of make-up, taking lessons at Maquillage Professionnel School of Make Up and Artistry, one of the well-known experts in the industry. This eventually led to a recent partnership with the brand as part of a S/S 2012 feature. Though she may have her hands full with a lot of different things, mastery and strong dedication, emphasized by a dark and edgy way of dressing, are what set this gal apart from the rest of the pack.
ELLE Girl's line includes trends such as mullet tops, body-con dresses, and numerous casual staples with a touch of fun and funky prints!

Elle Girl is a concept that goes way back to the Elle magazine, a publication that is all about fashion and developments in red carpet or in runways. This then became the inspiration for retail ventures targeting the younger market. Elle Girl then emerged as a way for young women to explore fashion and determine their own character by what they wear.
Expanding into Canada, Taiwan and in Malaysia, the brand opened its first store in the Philippines way back in 2009. Joan Yao, the Marketing Manager of the brand said that “Runway designs are not always made for daily use but Elle Girl adapts these original concepts and turns them into everyday pieces.”
From classic, romantic, edgy, rock and roll, fashionistas can easily create the image that they wish.
The Spring/Summer ’13 collection emphasizes different trend aspects for budding purveyors of chic to explore.
