Axe Philippines to launch the first Filipino into space!

Yeah, at some point we all have dream of becoming one, and space travel has always been the stuff of science fiction or something that we all would watch in movies. Recently, however, science fiction became reality as AXE—the no.1 fragrance brand on Earth—introduced an experience that’s literally out of this world.

To celebrate the global launch of a new fragrance called AXE Apollo, AXE has announced that, together with a space travel agency called Space Expedition Corporation (SXC) and XCOR Aerospace, they will be launching people to space. I’m not talking about the kind of ‘space’ boys ask their girlfriends for, but actual space – the kind outside the planet.

But that’s not the most thrilling news. After all, humankind has been sending people to space since the Russians had Yuri Gagarin orbit the Earth in a spacecraft in 1961. And hundreds of people have been ejected out of the planet since then. But the thing about the people who’ve been to space is that, unless you happen to be one of the 528 listed space travelers, none of these people are you.

What’s so exciting about this project which AXE is calling the AXE Apollo Space Academy (AASA) is that they could be sending anyone. That’s right. Axe is sending untrained civilians with absolutely no business floating around in zero gravity into space. The plan is to send one person from every AXE country on Earth to space, which means that Axe Philippines will soon be making history by funding the first Filipino expedition to space. And anyone could be the First Pinoy Astronaut.

Maybe in space, we can also see these lady astronauts. :D

When asked why a fragrance brand would do something like this, AXE Philippines Brand Manager Gem Laforteza replied: “We offer two tips to getting girls to notice you: smell awesome all the time and be a freaking astronaut.”

If you want to become the first Filipino space traveler and join the ranks of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Han Solo, sign up for it at www.AxeApollo.com. The site has more details about the program. You may also visit the AXE Philippines Facebook fan page at www.facebook.com/AxePhilippines for more information.
