Watched 30 Minutes or Less last night with fellow music blogger. The action-comedy movie starred by Jesse Eisenberg as Nick is a small town pizza delivery guy who happens to meet two wannabe criminal masterminds
(Danny McBride and Nick Swardson). The two kidnaps Nick when he delivered pizza and strapped a
time bomb to him – with the promise that they’ll blow him up unless he robs a
bank. With only a few hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick enlists the
help of his ex-best friend, Chet (Aziz Ansari). As the clock ticks, the
two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own
tumultuous relationship.
Some words were used in the movie that other might see as inappropriate, but this is just clean good fun and realistic that the reactions and the characters of the people in the movie are not that far from reality.
After watching the movie, I feel that is is somewhat a success. Jesse Eisenberg seemed to do well playing his natural character and personality. He brings his customarily alert comic intelligence to the role of Nick and throws punchlines and remarks with Aziz so fluidly nice. Chemistry with Aziz Ansari is effortless. McBride, display is rather more trademark of a stupid moron-machismo weirdo as you would want him to be. :) McBride is paired up with Nick Swardson, who is like the "Robin' of the moronic Batman. Together they make a great convincing duo as the heartless bad guys who strap a bomb to Eisenberg and force him to rob a bank.
Thing that kinda bothered me and what i think is lacking is move exposure for Jesse's love interest. She goes out and shows her self every half hour or so. More good angled shots or scenes with her could have made the movie more entertaining. :)
The Movie is a fast, foul-mouthed, and intermittently very funny comedy and I must say I was amused and did laugh even before I finish my laugh.
There were also good action shots and directions from the movie. Nick is perfectly paired with Chet. He is so hysterical most of the time that it just makes me laugh aloud. The guys is hilarious! :) It is nutty, loud, profane and certaily full of laughs. It will not change your life and it might hurt your ears (if you are too sensitive), but it should keep you smiling all through out the movie.
The movie is rated R due to some nudity, profane languages. It runs for around 83 minutes and isn't that long, a little comedy that’s more than deserving of your time. It is well-cast, well-engineered and well-made for a late comedy entry for this season.
Since I am a guy who curses occasionally and crave for a pump in my blood vessels, I give the movie
