According to the report, the global rate of new HIV infections declined by nearly 25% between 2001 and 2009. In India, the rate of new HIV infections fell by more than 50% and in South Africa by more than 35%; both countries have the largest number of people living with HIV on their continents. Unfortunately, this not the case in Philippines. Recent report in June 2011, 178 were found positive an increase of 63% compared to the 109 reported in the same month last year. This is not just DOH concern, this is also ours. Can we simply do something else aside from watching the numbers climb up?
