The Green Lantern Movie. Where do I even begin.
To start with, Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan / Green Lantern and another, Blake Lively as the oh so sexy Carol Ferris. The movie had a pretty good looking lead and a very hot lady at her side. Now who doesn't go green with envy on that.
Oh yes, one of the most anticipated movie did not disappoint. Even with prior viral release of tons of movie clips and trailers that reveals too much of the story, still, I manage to enjoy the movie. in 3D!!! It has a witty, humor, sexiness feel and lotsa good action scenes in it. There were scenes when I get to grip the arm chair so hard coz of the action scenes.
Ryan certainly did act well, loved his natural acting skills and also loved his role in "Buried"
The Character of Blake Lively as Carol Ferris certainly did rings some fashion and acting bells in my head. I do not watch Gossip girl but the Carol Ferris that i saw definitely had some Serena Van De Woodsen going on. I feel that she was really Serena from gossip girl. The dress and the look. Certainly she was one I always look out for in every scene. The enemy Hector Hammond played by Peter Sarsgaard play a very good villain. ------
Ok, on to the movie.
I am not really familiar with the DC universe, apparently I was missing out on a lot. Not sure if the story line was accurate, (do let me know) coz I've seen An African American greenlantern and a white one. So I don't really know.... Anyways. Just as what Nix said in the middle of the movie, "green lantern is now my fav superhero." now how about that? I guess somehow watching it makes him one of my favorites also.
The movie certainly was able to get our full attention and really focus on the movie, one scene every other makes me crave for more fight scenes and more green lantern imagination. I can't get enough of it. If it is still in cinemas, I recommend you guys watch it... It a refreshing take on greenlantern and would make you wanting more. Just like the x-men first class, it's new, unpredictable and just plain good...better than expected..
One observation though, the movie had a feel of a classic superman movie, damsel in distress, a little love story and errrrr defeating the bad guy?:). I know, spoiler right? Hehe
Anyways, I recommend that you guys watch it.

Green Lantern synopsis below.

But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
